WORLD WATER DAY - "Leaving no one behind"...!

 WORLD WATER DAY

The United nations has started celebrating March 22nd as THE WORLD WATER DAY  since 1993 , to analyse the progress that have been made by various organizations in terms of programs and events to conserve the water . They have different objectives each year , called themes . They work upon it and analyse the developments every year . This is years theme is "Leaving no one behind" , they want EVERYONE  to get access of clean water by the year 2030 . There are milllions of communities , societies and minorities who are still not getting clean fresh water even for drinking .

The most important objective of this day is to educate people about how to use water effectively , make them aware about those , who are having a problem of not getting clean drinking water and persuade them to save water .

There are already a lot of organizations who have been working hard to get people out of this menace . Non-governmental organizations active in the WASH (water sanitation and hygiene ) sector , such as UNICEF , WaterAid and Water and Sanitation for the Urban Poor (WSUP) , use the day to raise public awareness , get media attention for water issues and inspire action . Activities have included releasing publications and films , as well as organizing round tables, seminars and expositions .
End Water Poverty , a global civil society coalition with 250 partner organizations, sponsors Water Action Month each year and offers an event-planning guidebook .
The UN World Water Development Report (WWDR) is released each year on World Water Day. Information related to the annual theme gives decision-makers tools to implement sustainable use of water resources .
More and more initiatives in schools and universities are educating people about the importance of conserving and managing water resources . For example , Michigan State University held a contest for "best World Water Day poster" in 2017 . Primary school children in the Philippines participated in a "My School Toilet" contest in 2010 .

The impact came in 2016 at its best , In 2016 , the World Water Day campaign and related publications reached millions of people through social media , dedicated websites and other channels: The UN-Water annual report states that social media engagement (hashtag #WorldWaterDay) had a maximum potential reach of 1.6 billion people worldwide in 2016 . Over 500 events in 1000 countries were registered on the World Water Day website that year .

Happy Independence day ~ WHAT HAS CHANGED IN INDIA, SINCE THE INDEPENDENCE?

WHAT HAS CHANGED IN INDIA,  SINCE THE INDEPENDENCE?  The journey of India from 1947 to 2019 is quiet an adventurous one, with lots of ups and downs. If we look sideways, its a bit broad too. When we look at the graph of India's growth, it may seem 2 dimensional, But actually it has breadth along with the length and height. Not all cultures, castes, religions, economic groups and so on, have faced their ups and downs equally. India has a broad classification of citizens. Rich, Poor, Believers, Atheists, Strong, Weak, Literate, Illiterate, Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists and hundreds and hundreds of more divisions lie across the holy grounds of India. So its impossible to analyse this never-ending, three-dimensional graph of India's growth. Then what were all those articles about India's growth and changes telling us? All those are just the incomplete surveys from people who themselves aren't sure about the changes they have experienced. India's g...

Fathers day special - "the golden armour of life..."

The Golden armour of life  He stood alone in the dark against them all.  He don't want his head bowed, as he was never taught to do so. Only words he refused to criticize from his dad was, "let yourself be beheaded, other than holding it low, because...a coward dies a hundred times but the brave dies only once! ". His fists were clenched and heart beated fast, as he was "a coward" , but didn't want his head low. Now he regrets for leaving his home in anger to his life story's villain, who was striking the hot metal to make it the best weapon against the growing odds of the world. Now the dark people were heading close and all he could do is to hope his death not to be too brutal. Fear was overpowering his fake bravery camouflage. Rain poured in, to hide the cold chills of helplessness which has started flowing through his closed eyes. Suddenly he stopped feeling the rain drops falling on him. He opened his eyes to find himself covered by a s...
